In addition to these impressive optical sights, George Frideric Handel's native town also offers acoustic pleasures to be endulged. Every year, the entire city spends two weeks in June celebrating the grand musical display known as the Handel festival. Additional highlights include the festival of lights and the salt works festival, each luring thousands of visitors every year with various concerts, the traditional fisherman's poach, and the famous "Bootskorso" into the city of Saale, where hundreds of lantern lit boats sail through the summer night.
